Rwanda is dominated by extinct volcanoes, which are home to a unique species: The mountain gorilla, close parent to mankind, which can be discovered face to face in Volcanoes National Park.
These great apes are in serious threat and are on the endangered species list. Less then 750 are still alive in the world. Amazing large silverback males weigh more then 400lbs. and stand 6' tall with an 8' arm span. The gorilla families complete with females and offspring and other mature males are living together in the jungle. We will trek in through the thick canopy of the dense jungle tracking these amazing creatures. We are hoping to find a family and have close proximity encounter with our closest animal relatives. This is a moving trekking adventure.
