Dean Cardinale

Dean CardinaleDean Cardinale (owner of World Wide Trekking and founder of HOP) started out with Snowbird Ski Patrol in 1993, and is currently an avalanche forecaster for Snowbird Ski Resort and the expedition leader for Snowbird Expeditions. He is also  the President of the Wasatch Backcountry Rescue group and a certified avalanche instructor with the American Avalanche Association. As a guide, he has numerous back country, helicopter, and climbing trips in the USA, Alaska, Europe, Central America, Africa, and  the Himalayas to his credit. Dean raced for the NCAA ski team at Keene State College, New Hampshireand  graduated with a BS degree in Mechanical Design in 1992.   On May 30, 2005 Dean summitted Mt. Everest  and is currently working on a seven summits bid.

Michael Morris

Michael morrisMichael Morris Is Ski Patrol Supervisor at Snowbird UT, and has guided Himalayan Treks and climbs in the Nepalese and Tibetan regions over the past 12 years. He has also spent 17 seasons guiding 8-14 day trips down the Grand Canyon. Mike holds EMT and Avi Level 3 certification, as well as a BA in Economics. When he is not busy guiding and keeping the slopes safe, he enjoys rock climbing of all types, white water boating, backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and playing with his son Max.

Amelia Patterson

Amelia PattersonAmelia Patterson is our rock and canyoneering guide and has spent years climbing all over North America. She spent a couple seasons living in Yosemite working on Search and Rescue and ticking off many free climbs and big walls. Rather than skiing in the winter she prefers to climb on the sunny cliffs in Southern Europe and recently returned from a trip  climbing in Slovenia and Croatia in the Balkans. She lives part-time in Moab, Utah and part-time in Boulder, Colorado where she is working on her Master’s degree in Journalism.

Craig Lutke

Craig Lutke has been guiding since 1993. During the winter months, Craig works as the Director of Ski Patrol at Sundance Ski Resort in Northern Utah. Since 1999, Craig has been complimenting the summer/winter seasons by guiding and consulting on multiple Kilimanjaro climbs. In his personal time Craig enjoys teaching Avalanche Awareness, Outdoor Emergency Care and Swiftwater Rescue classes. He resides in Utah with his wife Amber, where they pursue their passion for horses, skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking out of their own back door. He graduated from the University of Utah with a BS degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism.

Dr. Phillip Levy

Dr. Phillip Levy is our medical advisor. He is based out Detroit, Michigan but has traveled extensively throughout the world. In addition to being a board certified Emergency Physician, he has a Master's Degree in Public Health and serves as a part-time travel medicine consultant. Dr. Levy is a co-founder of the International Society for Emegency Care and Soft Power Health, a pair of not-for-profit organizations which work to develop self-sustaining medical infrastructure in emerging nations.

Msafiri Munna

Msafiri MunnaMsafiri Munna is our local guide based in Tanzania, and has guided Kilimanjaro dozens of times. He has has lived his  entire life in Tanzania and started his career as a tour guide in 1997. He acquired his license in 2003 from  TANAPA, Tanzania National Parks, which is the only place which offers licenses to tour guide qualifiers in Tanzania.
