Part of our mission at World Wide Trekking is to give back to the wonderful places we visit. The Human Outreach Project (HOP) is our way of giving back. HOP is a 501c3 non profit organization funded by private donations. HOP collects, transports, and distributes medical, dental, clothing, and school supplies to areas in need on every World Wide Trekking trip.
World Wide Trekking encourages members to take part in HOP on their trip. We collect and distribute supplies as a group. We also have members gather supplies and share them with locals in areas that can use the support. Our Human Outreach Project covers the cost of shipping supplies from home to our final destination, then as a team we share those supplies. On many of our trips, this is one of the highlights of our experience.
Human Outreach Project needed supplies:
- Health supplies
- Medical supplies
- Dental supplies
- Clothing
- School supplies. Crayons, colored pencils, work books, etc.
- Mountain rescue supplies, headlamps, duffel bags, evacuation gear.
During our trip we will designate members of the trip to visit and distribute our gathered supplies to local areas in need. It will make the trip complete.
