St Petersburg / Moscow
This city-orientated trek will take you to some of the most popular sites of St Petersburg and Moscow. Starting in St Petersburg, a city tour will take you to visit such sites as the State Hermitage, Peter and Paul fortress. The Hermitage is one of the oldest museums in the world, comprised of 6 historic buildings, including the Winter Palace which was a residence for Russian emperors. From here venture on to visit the Peter and Paul fortress, which was the original St Petersburg citadel. The following day take an exciting excursion to Petergof, home to many palaces and gardens erected by Peter the Great, sometimes referred to as the Versailles of Russia.
From here you will take the high speed train Sapsan to Moscow. While in Moscow, a city tour will include the famous sites of the Kremlin and the Red Square. Another excursion will take you to Kolomenskoe, a former estate of royalty with several ancient churches and buildings.
If you prefer to see more of Russia, extra excursions to Warsaw, Krakow, or other Russian destinations can be arranged.
