How physically fit must I be to enjoy my trek?
The icons next to each trip name on the Region pages and on each trip Overview page will let you know how demanding that trek is. Feeling healthy and confident of your mobility is essential if you want to fully enjoy your trip abroad. Most World Wide Trekking adventures feature a fair amount of walking up and down inclines on uneven terrain. For your comfort and safety, we recommend trips with a blue background on the Difficulty Icon to individuals in good physical condition. If you're considering a blue background trekking adventure, you should live an active lifestyle, enjoy good health and mobility, be comfortable participating in 6-8 hours of daily physical activities and able to walk 3-10 miles unassisted over the course of each day. We do offer some green background trips and options for those less physically active. The Machu Picchu Hiram Bingham Express trip or the horseback option for the Machu Picchu trek are some options. Contact us if you have concerns about the demands of a trip, or to find trips that will suit your physical ability realm if you are unsure.
How difficult are the treks?
Difficulty of the treks depends on the region of the trek and duration of it. Shorter treks tend to be easier while longer ones require some physical fitness. Climbs and mountain peak summits are often more technical. Check the trek's description for details, or contact us with specific questions.
Our outdoor adventures are designed for people of all abilities, from the novice to the seasoned hiker. No experience is needed for some of our trips, just a willingness to experience the rewards of an active adventure. Others require more technical skill and physical ability. The trip difficulty is based on the amount of trekking hours per day in addition to the type of terrain you will cover. We always trek at a comfortable pace designed to allow plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and take plenty of photographs if the trip is less technical. We will talk to you about the specific skills and fitness levels required for our more technical treks if you are interested. We also offer training and preparation sessions to help you make sure you are ready for your trip. This is your adventure and we want you to enjoy it!
Do I need a passport and or visa’s to attend your treks?
Yes, our trekking specialist will be able to help you with the passport and visa requirements for your trek.
What are your group sizes?
It is out policy to size our groups so that they are small and intimate. With over 10 years experience in adventure travel, we know the right number of people for each specific adventure depending on what all the trip entails and limit group size accordingly. All of our trips have a minimum and maximum number of travelers.
What is included in the price?
In general, our trips are all-inclusive and fully supported from the adventure’s point of arrival through the trip's conclusion at the airport or other departure location. All guiding fees, permits, meals, lodging, local transportation and equipment transportation are included. Our meals do not include alcohol, or any additional meals outside of our itineraries. Gratuities for guides, side excursions, and bottled beverages are also not included.

What is the required gear I should bring?
As each trip is unique in its climate, elevation, and location, gear requirements vary depending on the specific trek and time of year. Upon booking of your trek with us a detailed gear list will be provided. Our trekking specialist will be available to make suggestions and or help you secure the gear you need for your trip.
What gear is provided by World Wide Trekking?

We do have a sleeping bags and sleeping pads for rent if you would rather not buy one. We often have extra gear in case clients forget to bring necessary items.
Does your price include airfare?
No. As each clients travel needs are specific you are responsible for booking your own airfare to the point of departure and return. We have travel agents that have booked airfare for many of our trips available to assist you in booking your airfare if you would like.
What Are the Accommodations Like?
For treks involving camping, World Wide Trekking features all modern trekking equipment. The mountain tents are rugged 4-season North Face mountain tents which hold two people comfortably. An outer flysheet and large vestibules keep equipment from the elements. They are set up, broken down, and carried (along with everything else) by our local guides. We dig latrines at campsites and set up toilet tents. Showers are not available on most treks but we will provide facilities to maintain proper hygiene.
Before every meal we provide soap and hot water, for washing your hands. You'll enjoy each breakfast and dinner (and lunches eaten during bad weather) in a large lighted dining/mess tent. Each campsite is set amongst greatly varied landscapes, offering the full spectrum of different ecosystems on your trek.
Hotels and fixed lodging will vary according to the region and trip. We always stay at safe, well-equiped upper scale lodges with comfortable ammenities that allow us to get the most out of the local culture, sites and cuisine.
What kind of food will we eat?
Meals are nutritious and calorific, prepared with the best quality foods and highest standards of hygiene. While trekking, breakfast and dinner are served in a large mess tent and lunches out in the open if the weather is nice. We usually have wonderful local cuisine as well as western meals. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. Meals in restaurants and lodges will have an emphasis on great local cuisine and entertainment.
What sort of experience do your guides have?
World Wide Trekking guides have many years of guiding experience all over the world. Most of them have been spending years exploring the area in which we run our treks. Our guides are trained in wilderness first aid and know how to handle any situation. All our regional local guides speak fluent English and happy to share their deep knowledge of the country and beauty of outdoors with you. We believe and follow the idea that it’s not enough to take our clients to special places. We provide guides who can immerse our clients in their adventure of a lifetime.
What happens in case of emergency?
World Wide Trekking is prepared for any emergency situation. Our guides are trained and have procedures in place in the event of an accident or emergency. Our guides are trained in first aid and can deal with most of the basic ailments that occur during a trek. Every client should have his own insurance before coming on our treks. We also highly recommend trip insurance to protect against other travel mishaps. The main concern of World Wide Trekking is to make your trip safe, memorable and fun!
Do you provide guidance with regard to inoculations and medicines needed?
Information on all required and recommeded vacinations and medicines are included as part of our gear list. We can also consult you as well and help answer any questions. Dr. Phil Levy is also our World Wide Trekking travel doctor. Dr. Levy is happy to take calls or emails and answer your questions as well.
